Abstract :
There are two types of filariases distributed
in Thailand. Wuchereria bancrofti is widespread in the area of Thailand -
Myanmar border. Brugia malayi is highly found in the south of Thailand. This
research we study epidemiology of filariasis during 1997 - 1998 and Bancrofti
filarial worm surveillance in natural mosquitoes. Mosquitoes were collected
from the areas of 3 provinces in Thailand (Tak, Maehongson and Ranong) in
1999 and 2000. There were 47 samples (1,014 mosquitoes) detected for Bancrofti
filarial worm. None of them were found by Immunochromatography.
